Dec 18th BackType Subscriptions

Since our launch in late August, the most requested feature has been the ability to follow comments by post. Today, we’re happy to announce BackType Subscriptions which lets you do exactly that. You give us a URL and we’ll let you know when someone comments via e-mail (immediately or in daily or weekly digests) and RSS.

Using BackType, you can now follow comments by:

  1. Author
  2. Search Term
  3. Post

Kudos to BackType. They’ve made a bunch of progress recently including the implementation of a nice, simple API.

Whenever I try to add a subscription I'm told you don't support that blog. Typepad? Blogger? How can you not support two of the biggest blogging softwares out there? It makes the subscription option pretty useless.

We support both Typepad and Blogger, but it's possible we haven't added the property you added a subscription for. Your subscriptions should be working shortly — when you submit a blog we don't support, it adds it automatically.
