I run a custom blog system. Is there a way to ensure my comment system is compatible with Backtype?

If you run a custom blog, the easiest thing you can do to ensure you comments are compatible is use Disqus.

I have my own comment system as well. If it helps, I can generate atom feeds or JSON.
